Becoming Carefree

In today’s world, with so many things happening around us, how can we be carefree? Is it even right, to feel carefree? In Raja Yoga, we use the model of a drama to understand the answer to these questions. We see the outer world as an unlimited drama. The Earth is the stage, and the sun, and the moon and the stars are the lights of the stage. On this stage, the invisible beings of light are the actors. Each actor has its role and an actor may play many roles at its own time.

To understand the life of the actor we use the image of an emperor. Some are wealthy emperors, and some are less wealthy emperors. Here, by emperor we understand someone who is a self-sovereign, someone who has a noble attitude, their vision of the self is full, complete, perfect. The emperor is asked to play the role of a businessman in a short drama. The emperor is happy to do it, but he knows it is only for one day and he knows his own kingdom. The role of the businessman may require expertise in various areas, and he is happy to play that role. The businessman may have to buy and sale goods on the market, and his account can get bigger, but the emperor does not believe that he is becoming rich because of that.

In the next scene, the businessman may lose a part of his wealth, and again the emperor does not feel threatened in any way, he remains peaceful and carefree. The businessman makes donations and creates opportunities for charity, however, the emperor does not take the reward of that, all is part of the role. The emperor has its own kingdom, the family, the king and the queen, the matters of his kingdom are in his mind. He will find time in-between the scenes to think of this home, to create wealth in the real world, to give donations and do charity for the real people in his kingdom.

Similarly, the beings of light, the souls are actors on the unlimited stage, and each soul can be understood as a self-sovereign, an emperor. Each soul plays a role, and the reward of that role is coming from the way he deals with the real matters in the real world. The real people are the beings of light, their real world is a world of peace and light, an eternal kingdom. In this kingdom, they experience peace, love, bliss, they see the truth of themselves and of the others. By being aware of his own kingdom and becoming alert and active here, the soul creates a bright future.

The emperor soul remains carefree regarding the ups and downs of the role, he knows his eternal kingdom.
