The Loving Observer
We all are used to observe things, aren’t we ? For instance, in a hospital, the doctor has to have a good sense of observation to see what is happening, to discern based on the different information and decide on the best action. At the working place, we need to observe carefully and respond to changes. For instance, being agile in the production process, means that you plan, you observe the signs of the progress and you are ready at any moment to change or even to drop the initial plan. To be agile means to be intelligent, to adapt to newness. A mother also needs to observe what is the situation with her child, when is he getting into some kind of trouble, or when is he sick, she has to have a keen sense of observation.
Similarly, we want to be able to observe our thoughts and emotions. A good sense of observation makes us powerful, we can see ourselves separate from our emotions, we are not led by them. Observation is the first step towards more inner freedom. From the position of the observer we see with clarity, and we can remain calm at the time of need. Through observation we strengthen our higher intellect and are able to choose wisely.
There is another advantage of observation, that is, by seeing a bigger perspective we can connect with our spiritual nature and with the divinity. The true self, the observer, is very loving. The real self is naturally connected with the Divine eternal source of love, power and bliss. Let us experiment with the perspective of the loving observer.
